Felted Wool
Felted wool is different than wool felt. Felted wool is 100% wool fabric that has been ‘felted’ by washing in hot water which shrinks the fibres down into a tighter weave (think of shrinking a wool sweater in a hot wash/dryer). This makes it great for applique as it doesn’t fray when cut. Often used in applique quilts, pincushions, wallhangings, penny rugs, and accessories. All of the felted wool we carry is hand dyed so colours can vary a bit.
