Jungle Magnolia BOM Class with Lisa Leverton

Make this spectacular Judy Niemeyer quilt over 5 months with Quiltworx Certified Instructor Lisa Leverton! If you have always fancied learning to quilt the Quiltworx way but haven’t been able to attend one of our retreats, we are now offering this as a block of the month weekend class over 5 weekends in 2026.

Over the course of 5 weekends you will learn how to organise, cut and piece the Judy Niemeyer way in order to complete this spectacular quilt. Jungle Magnolia is one of Quiltworx’s technique quilts that can only be taught by a certified instructor. Every 2 years Quiltworx releases a technique of the month quilt that includes new techniques and is visually stunning. Come and learn all the tips and tricks with Lisa Leverton, certified Quiltworx instructor.

Classes will be in the Sew Hot classroom in Fleetwood and will run on Saturday from 10-6 and Sunday from 10-4 on the dates shown below. Course fee includes instruction, pattern (including paper pieces), tea/coffee.

About your teacher: Whilst on a course with the military in 2009 Lisa took her first quilting class and made a Jacob’s ladder cushion cover. In 2016 Lisa found the wonderful world of Tula Pink fabrics and a new era of quilting ensued making many quilts with Tula’s fabrics. Throughout the last 15 years all styles of quilting have been tried but for precision and accuracy Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP) has been the most fun. Lisa has successfully run her own quilting classes in Lincolnshire on Quiltworx, taking students through all the intricacies of a Quiltworx pattern and what wonderful options they offer the quilter. She was also an instructor at our recent Jungle Magnolia Retreat in Fleetwood.

In February 2025 Lisa attended the Quiltworx Certified Instructor Course in Belgium and in September 2025 received her certification as a Quiltworx Instructor, having made a huge number of Quiltworx quilts and several versions of the Jungle Magnolia Quilt.

Skills needed: Students should know how to use a sewing machine and have completed a few sewing or patchwork projects prior to class. Some foundation paper piecing experience would be helpful.

Dates: 2026 – January 31/Feb 1, February 28/Mar 1, March 28/29, April 25/26, June 6/7

Materials: Kits will be available to purchase in the colourways shown, or use your own fabric. We do advise you use a kit as these will be cut in a way that will make your cutting for each section more efficient. Kit information will be emailed once you have registered. You will need to bring a sewing machine, rotary cutter, and ruler. If you have any questions at all about what you need, please don’t hesitate to get in touch! Once you register you’ll receive a list of the recommended supplies (look for download link in your receipt).

We will Provide:   Ironing stations, cutting mat, coffee & tea.

Cost: £125/month for the Queen pattern (99in x 99in), £115/month for the Wall pattern (80in x 80in). First months payment will be taken at sign up, then 4 further payments will be taken in January – April 2026.
